I am a husband of an amazing woman. I am a father of two awesome boys. I love to think, play sports and dabble with music. I currently work as a pastor and don’t really have the education to be invited to do much else. I love to learn and help others see that which they may not have seen before. Perhaps I might best be considered a long term tourist in the kingdom of God. Maybe you’ve met a person like that in a geographical context. I’m talking about the kind of person who moves to another country and thrives on learning the language, customs and places of their adopted land. They engage in a long term quest to know it better and to embrace it. Their real joy comes, however, when they get to share with others (whether long term residents, visitors or an audience in their homeland) what they have come to know and love about their new home.
That’s me with the Bible and God and church and the kingdom. I’ve moved to a new country. Admittedly I don’t know my way around it that well, but I’m learning. I love it. I love to explore it. Most of all I love to share the places I have visited and seen and discovered with others. Long term residents have often missed out on much of the beauty of this place. New comers deserve to see it all (or as much as I can show them so far!) as they decide if this is a place they’d like to settle. Those who have never been here…I want to share with them all the beauty and wonder that this land could offer for those who will come.
Part immigrant. Part tourist. Part tour guide. Part ambassador. Will you walk with me on this journey?
